                        Acquisition of Continental Auto

National Express Group PLC ('the Group') announces that its acquisition of
Continental Auto, a leading operator of public transport services in Spain, has
been unconditionally cleared by the Council of Ministers.


The process to closing continues and it is anticipated the transaction will
complete within the next week. The Group will make a further announcement on
completion.
