Overall trading has been encouraging and profits for the full year remain in line with market expectations. 'We continue to experience rail patronage growth of 5% across the division. On 1 April we successfully launched 'one', the new Greater Anglia franchise. The integration of the 'one' franchise is already underway and we are pleased to report that to date operational performance has been good. In March we submitted our proposals for the review of the railways to the Department for Transport and the Strategic Rail Authority ('SRA'). We look forward to working with the Government and the SRA on the review. 'We continue to invest in our bus operations to stimulate revenue growth. Following our entry into London, a dedicated management team has been appointed to focus on improving the performance of this business. 'Our coach division has experienced a strong start to the year through the promotion of best value fares. 'Overseas, trading is in line with expectations. In the United States the student bus bidding season is still underway and early indications are encouraging. 'With my retirement from the Board, I am delighted to handover the chairmanship to David Ross. I wish David, the Board and the Group success and prosperity for the future.' - ENDS - For further information, please contact: Nicola Marsden/Fiona Noblet National Express Group PLC 020 7529 2036/38 Jonathon Brill/Ben Foster Financial Dynamics 020 7831 3113 This information is provided by RNS The company news service from the London Stock Exchange
