                   Appointment of new non executive director

National Express Group PLC ('the Group') is pleased to announce the appointment
of Roger Devlin to the Board as a non executive director with effect from 1
October 2007.

Roger spent 13 years as a Director of Hill Samuel where he was Head of Mergers
and Acquisitions and Chief Executive of their US investment banking operations.
He then moved to Ladbrokes (later Hilton PLC) as Group Corporate Development
Director. He left Hilton in 2006 and now chairs three private equity businesses
on behalf of Permira and Advent, active in the leisure and hospitality fields.

Roger is Senior Independent Director of RPS Group PLC.

Commenting on his appointment, David Ross, Chairman of National Express Group
said: 'I am delighted that Roger has agreed to join the Group Board. He brings
significant skill and experience in both the finance and leisure sectors, as
well as a wealth of experience in growing successful and dynamic organisations.'

There are no details to be disclosed under sections 6F2(b) to (g) of the UKLA
Listing Rules.
