Board Change

National Express Group PLC 7 December 2001 7 December 2001 National Express Group PLC Board Change With the continued focus on local teams being responsible for operations and business development and the consequent reduction in the role of the central commercial function, National Express announces that Richard Brown, Group Commercial Director, has today resigned as a director of National Express Group PLC. Richard has been with the Group for five years and became Commercial Director in July 1999. Commenting on Richard's departure, Phil White, Chief Executive, National Express said: 'Richard has been a valuable member of the Board and I would like to thank him for his input over the years. He has played an important role in the development of the Group's well respected trains division. Furthermore, as Chairman of the Association of Train Operating Companies he has helped lead the industry during a particularly difficult period. As a result of greater decentralisation within the Group, the role of a central commercial function has become more limited and therefore, we have agreed with Richard that it is now appropriate for him to move on.'
