The Company was notified on 10 May 2006 by the trustee of the National Express
Employee Benefit Trust that it had transferred 597 ordinary 5 pence shares to a
participant in the Deferred Annual Share Bonus Plan.



Following this transaction, the trust holds 339,458 shares in the Company in
which the executive directors, Phil White, Ray O'Toole and Adam Walker are
deemed to be technically interested in, under the Companies Act. The transaction
did not relate to any directors of the Company.
