The Company was notified on 26 June 2006 by the trustee of the National Express
Employee Benefit Trust that it had transferred 1,540 ordinary 5 pence shares out
of trust in respect of an exercise by a participant in the Deferred Annual Share
Bonus Plan and the Share Matching Plan.



Following this transaction, the trust holds 327,538 shares in the Company in
which the executive directors, Phil White, Ray O'Toole and Adam Walker are
deemed to be technically interested in, under the Companies Act. The transaction
did not relate to any directors of the Company.
