NATIONAL EXPRESS GROUP PLC ('National Express') 

Further to the announcement on 19 September 2000 that the offer for Prism Rail
PLC by National Express has been declared unconditional in all respects and as
a result of elections under proposals made by National Express to holders of
options in shares of Prism Rail PLC, Giles R Fearnley of Prism Rail PLC ceased
to have an interest on 02 October 2000 in 96,550 Prism Rail PLC shares.
