National Express Group PLC announces that the Remuneration Committee agreed to
the following award of options over National Express ordinary 5p shares to
four executive directors of the Company on 19 April 2001.  The grant has been
made in accordance with the rules of the Company's Executive Share Option
Scheme and under the performance criteria approved at last year's Annual
General Meeting.  The exercise price of the options is 862.5p which was the
mid-market price on 18 April 2001.
