National Express Group PLC ('the Company')

National Express Group PLC announces that the Remuneration Committee agreed to
the following award of options over National Express Group shares to four
executive directors of the Company on 27 April 2000.  The grant has been made
in accordance with the rules of the Company's Executive Share Option Scheme
and under the performance criteria approved by the shareholders at this year's
AGM.  The exercise price of the options is £5.40 which was the mid-market
price on 27 April 2000.
