Investor Event

National Express is today hosting an investor visit to Madrid, Spain. The purpose of the event is to provide investors with a greater understanding of the strengths and capabilities of National Express' Spain-based business, Alsa. Presentations will be made by the local Alsa management team.

Alsa provides essential public transport services in Spain and its performance has continued to be resilient in the second quarter of 2012. Spanish consumers face a challenging environment. Against this backdrop, Alsa's intercity coach revenue has continued to grow and urban bus revenue has been strong. As expected, revenue from the smaller non-transport activities has declined. Outstanding receivable balances from Spanish state bodies have reduced significantly since the end of 2011.
