        Office of Fair Trading announcement re Greater Anglia franchise


National Express Group notes today's announcement by the Office of Fair Trading
relating to the Group's acquisition of the Greater Anglia franchise.

Commenting on the findings, Phil White, Chief Executive said; 'We are very
disappointed at the OFT's decision to refer our acquisition of the Greater
Anglia rail franchise to the Competition Commission. We will be reviewing the
detail of this decision and its implications whilst considering our position.'
