                       Sale of Australian bus operations



Further to the announcement of 3rd September, National Express Group ('the Group
') confirms that approval has been received from the Western Australian
Government for the sale of Southern Coast Transit.



All conditions relating to the disposal of National Bus Company and Southern
Coast Transit have now been fulfilled and completion of these sales is expected
to take place on 1 October 2004.
