          Competition Commission Findings re Greater Anglia franchise

National Express Group ('Group') welcomes today's announcement from the
Competition Commission, confirming that it has provisionally cleared the Group's
acquisition of the Greater Anglia rail franchise.

Commenting on the report, Phil White, Chief Executive, National Express Group
said;

'We are delighted that the Competition Commission has resolved that the
acquisition of the franchise has not resulted in any significant reduction in
competition within the east of England public transport market. We can now
concentrate all our efforts on getting on with the job and developing the
Greater Anglia franchise for our passengers.'
