National Express Group PLC ('NEG') - Voting Rights and Capital

In conformity with transitional provision 6 of the Transparency Directive we
would like to notify the market of the following:

As at 30th April 2007 the issued share capital of NEG consists of 154,059,599
ordinary shares of 5 pence each with voting rights.

The total shares in issue have increased from 153,918,042 as at 30th March 2007
to 154,059,599 shares as at 30th April 2007 as a result of shares issued to
satisfy the exercise of share options by employees.

NEG holds 1,825,000 ordinary shares in treasury.  Therefore the total number of
voting rights in NEG is 152,234,599 ordinary shares of 5 pence each.

The above figure (152,234,599) may be used by shareholders as the denominator
for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify
their interest in, or a change to their interest in NEG under the FSA's
Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
