Appitalism Considered World's Biggest App Store According
to New Research Report
London - (AIM: MOS), 23 June 2011 - A new application store billing report by Netsize (a Gemalto company) issued yesterday, ranks the Mobile Streams' Appitalism.com service as the largest global App Store with 719,715 apps (361,147 paid and 361,568 free) ahead of iTunes with 392,871, Android with 190,067 and Ovi with just 40,000.
The Appitalism.com store that Mobile Streams launched in September 2010 is different from other app stores as it supports all devices across multiple platforms providing users and members with a one-stop-shop for all their app needs.
"Our service provides a niche in a market that is largely dominated by platform providers. However, this latest research shows the benefit of services like ours that can bring large quantities of apps under one roof for the convenience of end users," explains Simon Buckingham, CEO of Mobile Streams and Chief Appitalist.
The Netsize's report is based on analysis of the emerging mobile device ecosystems as well as application store trends and also incorporates research by ABI Research, Chetan Sharma Consulting, Deutsche Bank, Juniper Research and VisionMobile.
The extensive Appitalism.com catalogue covers everything from premium apps, songs, books, games and videos on Appitalism.com that are compatible with a broad range of digital devices including smartphones, tablets, PCs and eBook readers.
