Launch of Mobile and Smartphone Optimized Version of Appitalism

London - (AIM: MOS) - 27 January 2011 - Mobile Streams announces today that it has launched a version of its Appitalism.com website that is optimized for more than 5000 different makes and models of mobile and smartphone devices from around the world including those from Apple, Android, BlackBerry, Nokia and many others.

Effective immediately, visitors to Appitalism.com on mobile devices will be automatically recognized and served the mobile optimized version of the website. Mobile users can also access the mobile website using Appitalism's customized short domain name app.sm which was ordered from the San Marino Internet agency to save mobile users from having to type in the full Appitalism domain name on their device keypad enabling even faster access to the service whilst on the move.

Appitalism detects the type of mobile device being used and automatically simplifies the user experience by showing only content compatible with that specific device. After completing their purchases, Appitalism customers have single click access to their apps and content straight from their App Cloud.

Simon Buckingham, CEO of Mobile Streams and Chief Appitalist commented: "Given that a significant portion of the traffic to the Appitalism.com website already comes from mobile and smartphone browsers, we're sure that the user-friendly format of the mobile version will be a big hit with Appitalism users. Being device and platform agnostic is a central part of the Appitalism proposition and we are therefore pleased that the mobile version of the website supports."

Using a feature and content rich eCommerce site such as Appitalism on the small screen of a mobile device or smartphone requires a different user experience to that best suited to users accessing the service on a PC or laptop screen. As well as the user interface, the mobile version optimizes the technical aspects of the Appitalism site to enable faster mobile browsing, by for example, minimizing use of web technology components that do not render quickly or well on mobile devices.

The mobile version of the Appitalism site is dynamically and automatically synchronized with the Appitalism.com website in real-time, so that members visiting from any screen can continue to, for example, earn App Rewards and redeem their App Cash seamlessly regardless of how they are accessing the Appitalism service. Appitalism customers also have the same payment options and payment types on the Mobile Internet site as they do on the website. Mobile Streams incorporated more than a decade of accumulated learning in mobile site design and operation for this in-house development project.
