Mobile Streams break new ground in India with new payment gateway
London, United Kingdom - 11 Oct 2018 - Global mobile content retailer, Mobile Streams, today announces the association with one of the largest payment gateway providers in India which enables customers to pay for mobile content via credit/debit card, e-wallets and their mobile accounts.
Mobile Streams launched their mobilegaming.com subscription service in India in 2016 and are working with local telecom operators to charge customers via prepaid and post-paid mobile accounts.
Association with the payment gateway will enable Mobile Streams to generate revenue from customers on networks with no billing connection and users with low or zero balance prepaid wallets. Following the government initiative "Cashless India", India is gradually moving to a cashless society with digital wallets becoming standard practice for payments.
Based on India's current growth trajectory, the country could boast a $1 trillion market for transactions by 2025, with 4 of 5 payments being made digitally. The current user base for digital transactions in India is close to 90 million, this could triple to 300 million by 2020 as new users from semi-urban and rural areas enter the market.
Simon Buckingham, CEO of Mobile Streams said: "We are very happy to partner with one of India's largest and longest established payment gateways. With the recent trend of lower and zero rate prepaid mobile wallets, it was imperative we created greater opportunity for customers to consume our mobile games services in India."
