Mentmore Abbey Plc

Application has been made to the UK Listing Authority for admission to the
Official List and to the London Stock Exchange for admission to trading of
572,800 ordinary shares of 10 pence each in Mentmore Abbey plc. The
application is being made for shares pursuant to the Qualifying Employee Share
Ownership Trust ('QUEST') which holds shares issued by the company in relation
to the group's employee share save schemes. Admission is expected to be
effective from 20 July 2001.
