                     Annual General Meeting Trading Update





The following update on current trading will be made by the chairman of Mentmore
plc at the AGM later today:


The start of the new financial year has seen the restructuring of the group in
line with the strategy announced in December 2002.


The sale of the serviced business space division was approved at an
extraordinary general meeting on 31 July and was completed later that day.


Iron Mountain Europe, our joint venture records management company, purchased
Hays Information Management Services business on 16 July. This is consistent
with our strategy of focusing investment on personal storage and records
management. We are encouraged by the progress being made to integrate this
acquisition which will create the leading European records and information
management service provider.


Trading in both personal storage and records management was in line with the
Board's expectations for the first quarter. The Board are confident of the
outlook and prospects for the Group.
