Mentmore Abbey Plc 13 June 2002 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 13 June 2002 MENTMORE ABBEY plc ('the Company') Board Changes Mentmore Abbey announces that Kim Taylor-Smith has today resigned from the board and as Group Chief Executive, by mutual agreement. The search for a replacement is under way. In the interim period Nicholas Smith, Executive Chairman will also act as Chief Executive. The Company also announces the appointment of a new independent non-executive director with immediate effect; Mr. Richard Wright, aged 56, is Chairman of the Board of National Savings, and was, until his recent retirement Director of Sales, Ford Motor Company UK. He will act as senior non-executive. Anthony Lewis, who is currently a non-executive director, has expressed a wish to retire at the AGM in September 2002, to concentrate on his own property business Nicholas Smith, Executive Chairman, said: 'Kim Taylor-Smith has worked for the Group for over 15 years and was appointed Group Chief Executive following the acquisition of Birkby in 1999. Kim has made a valuable contribution to the Group and after a long period in the public company arena, we respect his decision to leave to pursue family business interests. The appointment of Richard Wright represents a valuable addition to the board and I am confident that the successful Chief Executive candidate will further enhance Mentmore Abbey in its next stage of growth as the leading focussed space management group in Europe.' The company will report its preliminary results for the year to 30 April on 2 July, as previously announced.
