Posting of Scheme Document

Further to the announcement made by Mentmore plc ('Mentmore' or 'the Company')
on 28 April 2004 of the recommended proposals for the acquisition of the Company
by Safestore Acquisition Limited, to be implemented by means of a scheme of
arrangement under section 425 of the Companies Act 1985 ('the Scheme'), a
circular was posted yesterday to Mentmore shareholders.
The circular includes a notice convening a Court Meeting and an Extraordinary
General Meeting of the Company, to be held at the offices of Buchanan
Communications, 107 Cheapside, London EC2V 6DN on 1 June 2004 at 10.00a.m and
10.15a.m. respectively.
The expected timetable for implementation of the Scheme is as follows:
Court Meeting 10.00 a.m. on Tuesday 1 June 2004
Extraordinary General Meeting 10.15 a.m. on Tuesday 1 June 2004
Hearing Record Time 6.00 p.m. on Saturday 19 June 2004
Hearing Date (to sanction the Scheme and confirm Monday 21 June 2004
the reduction of share capital pursuant to the
Scheme)
Cessation of trading and dealings in Mentmore 6.00 p.m. on Tuesday 22 June 2004

Shareholders
Other than the Court Meeting and the Extraordinary General Meeting, these times
and dates are indicative only and will depend, amongst other things, on the date
upon which the Court sanctions the Scheme and the associated reduction of
capital and the date on which the Conditions of the offer are satisfied or (if
capable of waiver) waived.
Copies of the circular will be available for inspection during normal business
hours on any weekday up to and including the Effective Date or the date that the
Scheme lapses or is withdrawn, whichever is the earlier, from:

In addition, a copy of the circular will shortly be available for inspection at
the Document Viewing Facility at the Financial Services Authority, 25 The North
