Transaction in own shares

Elderstreet VCT plc announces that, on 1 May 2008, the Company
purchased 25,562 C Shares of 5p each for cancellation representing
approximately 0.11% of the total issued share capital at a price of
80.0p per share.
Additionally, the Company announces the cancellation the purchase of
27,500 Ordinary shares announced on 24 April 2008 at a price of 78.0p
per share. This transaction has had to be cancelled as a result of a
broker's error which resulted in the seller being unable to deliver
the stock to the Company.
Following the above purchase and cancellation, the Company has
20,944,591 Ordinary Shares and 1,516,640 C Shares in issue.
