                  MIDAS INCOME AND GROWTH INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

On 24 January 2008 Midas Income and Growth Investment Trust PLC bought back
150,000 ordinary shares for cancellation at a price of 139 pence per share.
Following the buy back, there are 45,097,450 ordinary shares in issue. The share
buy-back will be financed out of the capital reserve.
