Appointment of Director

The Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Karl Sternberg as a non-executive Director of the Company with effect from 1 July 2013. 

Mr Sternberg worked for Morgan Grenfell Asset Management (owned by Deutsche Bank) from 1992 to 2005 in a variety of roles, ultimately as the chief investment officer of Deutsche Asset Management Limited. He left that role to establish Oxford Investment Partners, an investment management company for a group of Oxford colleges, where he was chief executive officer until earlier this year. Mr Sternberg is chairman of JPMorgan Income & Growth Investment Trust PLC and is a director of Island House Investments LLP, Lowland Investment Company PLC and Resolution Limited.

The Chairman of Monks, James Ferguson said: "I am very pleased that Mr Sternberg has agreed to join our Board.   He has extensive and relevant investment experience and will, I am sure, make a valuable contribution to the Company."

There is no further information required to be disclosed under Listing Rule 9.6.13.
