Douglas McDougall to Join Board

The board is pleased to announce that Douglas McDougall has
joined the Board of The Monks Investment Trust PLC with
effect from 30 November 1999.

Mr McDougall is 55 years old.  He is chairman of the
Investment Management Regulatory Organisation and is former
chairman of the Association of Investment Trust Companies.
He is chairman of Foreign & Colonial Eurotrust PLC and a
director of Law Debenture Corporation plc,  The Scottish
Investment Trust PLC and Pacific Horizon Investment Trust
PLC.  Mr McDougall is a former senior partner of Baillie
Gifford & Co.
