Following a formal recruitment process, the Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Curling as an independent non-executive Director of the Company with effect from 2 November 2015.   

Richard Curling has over 30 years' experience as a fund manager and is currently an investment director at Jupiter Fund Management Plc ("Jupiter") with considerable experience of investment trusts.  Prior to joining Jupiter in 2006, he was Managing Director of Deutsche Asset Management.  Richard Curling currently does not have an interest in any shares in the Company and there is no other information required to be disclosed pursuant to LR 9.6.13R in relation to this appointment.

Jupiter Asset Management Limited holds 595,800 shares (3.56% of the voting rights) in the Company on behalf of its clients. Richard Curling has primary responsibility for the investment management of this shareholding. Any potential conflicts of interest which arise as a result of this would be disclosed to the Board. Notwithstanding this connection, the Board therefore considers Richard Curling to be independent.

Richard Martin, who has been a Director since February 2006, will retire from the Board on 12 November 2015.  The Board would like to thank Richard for his outstanding contribution and commitment to the Company over this time.
