At an Annual General Meeting of the Company held on 4 September 2006 all
resolutions contained in the Notice of Meeting dated 11 August 2006 were passed
by shareholders.



As a result of the passing of Resolution 10 at the Meeting:

•    the Company's investment objective has changed to the
     following:

     'to achieve capital growth by investing principally in European quoted 
     smaller companies'.

•    the appointment of Montanaro Investment Managers Limited will
     become effective at the commencement of business on 5 September 2006.



As a result of the passing of Resolution 11 at the Meeting, the Company's name
has changed to 'Montanaro European Smaller Companies Trust plc' with effect from
today.



A copy of the resolutions relating to special business will be forwarded to the
FSA for publication through the document viewing facility.
