Appointment of a Non-Executive Director
The Board of Morgan Advanced Materials plc. announces that Andrew Reynolds Smith is appointed to the Board as a non-executive director with effect from the conclusion of the 2013 Annual General Meeting to be held at 12 noon today.
Andrew is currently an executive director of GKN plc. A fuller biography is set out below.
The appointment follows a comprehensive search process led by the Nominations Committee. Following Andrew's appointment, the Board will comprise six non-executive directors and three executive directors.
Commenting on the appointment, Andrew Shilston, Chairman, said:

Andrew brings a wealth of international manufacturing experience from GKN plc. and will offer the Board an external serving executive perspective. Andrew's appointment is part of the continuing development of the Morgan Board"
There are no further matters to be disclosed pursuant to Listing Rule 9.6.13.

Andrew Reynolds Smith
Andrew Reynold Smith is the Chief Executive Automotive and Powder Metallurgy and an executive director of GKN plc. He is also Vice President of CLEPA (the European Association of Automotive Suppliers). He joined GKN in 2002 and has held a number of senior positions across the Group's Driveline, Powder Metallurgy and OffHighway businesses. Prior to GKN, he held various general management and functional positions at Ingersoll Rand, Siebe plc. (now Invensys plc.) and Delphi Automotive Systems. Andrew is a former Chairman of the CBI Manufacturing Council and a former member of the Ministerial Advisory Group for Manufacturing.
