Morgan Est, the Infrastructure Services division of Morgan Sindall plc, is
pleased to announce that it has been awarded a five year £450 million framework
contract by United Utilities ('UU') for its AX4 capital delivery programme.
United Utilities AX4 programme is the collective term for its £2.5 - £3.0
billion five year capital investment and maintenance programme covering both
water and wastewater (AMP4) and Electricity (XD4) assets.
Morgan Est's work involves the maintenance, rehabilitation and extension of
networks and associated equipment providing water supplies, wastewater
collection and electricity supplies for United Utilities' customers in the North
West of England.
Morgan Est's contract is worth up to £450 million over the next five years with
a potential five year extension and extends Morgan Est's order book to a record
of over £1 billion.
Preparatory work on the project is due to start later this month.
Paul Smith, Chief Executive, commented:
' We are delighted to have been awarded this prestigious contract with our long
term client United Utilities. It is the largest contract award in the Group's
history and extends Morgan Est's position in the utilities market following the
National Grid Transco Framework agreement in February.'
