MORGAN ASHURST SELECTED FOR £300M SCHOOLS MODERNISATION PROGRAMME
Morgan Sindall plc, the construction and regeneration group, announces today that Morgan Ashurst, its construction division has been selected by North Lanarkshire Council as one of three framework contractors to deliver its £300m schools modernisation programme.
The four-year programme of building improvements, due to start in February 2009, is estimated to be worth up to £100m for Morgan Ashurst.
The work will involve the construction of new primary and secondary schools, early education and community facilities across North Lanarkshire, Scotland. It will also include the refurbishment of existing schools, nurseries and community buildings.
Paul Smith, Chief Executive of Morgan Sindall plc, said:
'This is the fourth major schools buildings programme that Morgan Ashurst has recently won in Scotland, and complements the work that we are already doing in East Dunbartonshire and South Lanarkshire.
'The education market remains strong and, along with the defence and leisure sectors, will have a key role to play in the continued success of our construction division.'
