The issuer has made the following amendment to the Mothercare AGM announcement
released today at 0700 under RNS number 2206H. The words 'UK chain' in the
first paragraph have been replaced with the word 'business'
Mothercare plc Annual General Meeting (amended statement)
Trading Update
At its Annual General Meeting today Mothercare will confirm that sales in the
ongoing business increased by 13.6 per cent in the 16 weeks to 14 July 2001,
9.6 per cent on a like-for-like basis, with margin up year-on-year.
Commenting on this performance, Alan Smith, Chairman said:
'We are encouraged that the business is responding to the recovery programme.
This will allow us to continue investing in the business to support its
recovery and rebuild the Mothercare brand.'
