APPOINTS NEW FINANCE DIRECTOR
Mothercare plc today announces the appointment of Neil Harrington as Group
Finance Director. He will join Mothercare early in the new year. He succeeds
Steven Glew who will be leaving the business at the end of the year.
Neil Harrington, 42, joins Mothercare with a strong financial and commercial
track record in the retail sector. He is currently Finance Director of George
Clothing UK, part of Asda/Wal Mart Stores Inc. He is also Chief Financial and
Admin Officer of Global George, responsible for setting up the Global George
brand and running it on a day-to-day basis.
Prior to joining Asda, Neil was Finance Director of Barclaycard International, a
division of Barclays Bank plc and Group Financial Controller of French
Connection Group plc.
Commenting on the appointment Ben Gordon, Chief Executive, said: 'We are
delighted that Neil Harrington is joining Mothercare. Neil's impressive
financial, commercial and international expertise in the retail sector will
prove invaluable as we move into the next phase of growing the business more
aggressively both in the UK and globally.'
