Mothercare plc announces that Mr Ian R Peacock, chairman of the
Company, has today purchased 5,445 Mothercare plc ordinary 50p shares
at a price of £3.6725p per share.

Mr Peacock's total interest in the share capital of the Company
following the above acquisition now comprises 206,109 ordinary shares
being 0.236% of the issued share capital.
