Mothercare plc announces that Neil Harrington, Finance Director, has today
purchased 2,189 Mothercare plc ordinary 50p shares at a price of £4.05p per
share.

Mr Harrington's total interest in the share capital of the Company following the
above acquisition now comprises 15,000 ordinary shares being 0.02% of the issued
share capital.
