We write to advise you that we were advised today, that on the 27th August 1999,
the Trustee of the Storehouse Employee Benefit Trust made provisional awards to
the undermentioned Directors of Storhouse Plc under the Terms of the Storehouse
Plc Long Term Incentive Plan.  The shares provisionally allocated as set out
below will only be transferred to the individual if the performance criteria, as
defined in the scheme, are met and in any event not before a period ending six
weeks after the publication of the annual audited accounts in 2002.
