Mothercare plc announces that, in accordance with the Disclosure and
Transparency Rules, it has been advised by Aberdeen Asset Management PLC's Fund
Management Operating Subsidiaries that its holding in the company has increased
and crossed through the 14% threshold to 14.01%.

The number of shares held by Aberdeen Asset Management plc now comprises
12,415,548 ordinary Mothercare plc 50p shares.
