Mothercare plc have been advised today by Standard Life Investments of a
decrease in their notifiable material interest in Mothercare Ordinary 50p
shares. Their interest comprises 2,078,966 shares being 2.9% (previously
2,228,677 shares or 3.11%) of the issued share capital.

The total notifiable interest of Standard Life Investments is held in the
registered name of Vidacos Nominees

Mothercare plc's issued share capital is 71,615,737 ordinary shares.
