MOUNTVIEW ESTATES PLC ('MOUNTVIEW' OR 'THE COMPANY')

CHANGE IN DIRECTOR'S SHAREHOLDING

Mountview has today received notification from Mr. Duncan Sinclair (Chairman)
that with effect from 28 September 2001 he is no longer a Trustee of Frank and
Daphne Sinclair Grandchildren's Settlement Trust.

Mr. Sinclair therefore ceases to be a non-beneficial holder of 582,085
ordinary shares.

Mr. Sinclair's beneficial interest of 513,156 ordinary shares remains
unchanged.
