                    LONG TERM INCENTIVE PLAN AWARDS

The Company announces the grant on 29 February 2000 of awards of ordinary shares
of 25p each in the Company by the Remuneration Committee to the Executive
Directors of the Company as set out below.

In accordance with institutional guidelines on long term remuneration for senior
executives, awards to participants in the Plan are dependent on sustained
performance by participants and on the underlying financial performance of the
Company in the three years commencing 1 January 2000.
