                   Murray Income Trust PLC ('the Company')

Application has been made to the London Stock Exchange Plc and the UK Listing
Authority for a total of 27,784 Ordinary shares of 25p each ('shares') to be
admitted to the Official List. It is expected that permission to admit the new
shares will be granted on 12 January 2001 and that Trading will commence on 15
January 2001.

These shares are being issued as a result of the conversion of the Company's
'B' Ordinary Shares of 25p.

When issued,these shares will rank pari passu with the existing Ordinary
shares after payment of the third interim dividend on 16 July 2001.
