Appointment of a new Director


Murray Income Trust PLC is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Neil
Honebon as an independent non-executive Director to the Board, with effect from
4 August 2005.


Mr Honebon was a Founder Director of Fleming Family and Partners Asset
Management, where he is responsible for the management of investment portfolios
for the Fleming family and for other clients. He has over 25 years experience in
investment analysis and research and, while previously at Flemings, he was Head
of Global Research and deputy chair of the asset allocation committee. He is
also a director of Avior, Volantis and Octanis, three hedge funds within
Gartmore's Alphagen range.


Mr Honebon currently has no beneficial interest in the shares of the Company.


There is no disclosure required under Section 9.6.13 (1) to (6) of the Listing
Rules.
