Appointment of New Director

The Board of Murray International Trust PLC is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs Alexandra Mackesy as an independent non-executive Director of the Company with effect from 1 May 2016. 

Dr Kevin Carter, Chairman, commented on the appointment:

"I would like to welcome Alexandra to the Board.  Alexandra is a former investment equity research analyst by background and having spent the majority of her executive career in Asia, she brings further global perspective to the Board. "

Mrs Mackesy is currently a non executive director of the following companies:

The Scottish Oriental Smaller Companies Trust Plc; and

Asian Total Return Investment Co Plc.

Mrs Mackesy was, until 2015, a non executive director of RENN Universal Growth Investment Trust Plc and, until March 2016, a non executive director of Empiric Student Property Plc.

There are no other disclosures required to be made for Mrs Mackesy in respect of paragraphs 9.6.13 (1) - (6) of the Financial Conduct Authority's Listing Rules.

Mrs Mackesy does not hold any interests in any of the Company's shares.

Directorate

The Company confirms that, as indicated in the Annual Report and financial statements, Lady Balfour of Burleigh is retiring as a Director of the Company with effect from the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting today.  The Directors would like to reiterate their thanks and appreciation for the contribution made by Lady Balfour as a Director and as Chairman of the Remuneration Committee and latterly as Senior Independent Director of the Company.
