It is with regret that the Board of Murray International Trust PLC announces it
has today accepted the resignation of The Rt Hon Viscount Younger of Leckie as
Chairman and Director on the grounds of ill heath.

John Trott, who has been a Director of the Company since 23 October 2000, has
been appointed as Chairman with immediate effect.

He is Chairman of The Standard Life Assurance Company and of the Brunner
Investment Trust plc.
