On 19 October 1999 Murray International Trust PLC purchased for cancellation a
total of 220,000 of its own ordinary shares as follows:

       170,000 at 438p per share
        50,000 at 438p per share

Following the transactions the company's issued ordinary share capital is
111,514,382 ordinary shares of 25p each.
