Naked Wines wins record haul at Decanter World Wine Awards 2021
Naked Wines is pleased to announce it has won a record set of awards at the Decanter World Wines Awards ("DWWA") 2021, the world's largest and most influential wine competition. In total, the Company's exclusive wines received two platinum, seven gold, 48 silver and 105 bronze medals.
Now in its 18th year, the DWWA 2021 was the largest event to date with more than 160 expert judges, including 44 Masters of Wine and 11 Master Sommeliers, tasting a record 18,094 wines from 56 countries.
As part of the competition, the wines were organised for tasting by country, region, colour, grape, style, vintage and price, to ensure that wines are judged in flights against their peers.
The award wins represented a strong performance from Naked Wines' domestic (US) entries with two of the six total Platinums, five of the 25 total Golds, 22 of the 100 total Silvers and 80 of the 216 total Bronzes being native to the US.
Platinum medals are awarded to the best wine in each category, with Naked Wines' winners as follows:
· Derek Rohlffs & Ken Deis - Crowdpleazin Zinfandel 2019
· Sharon Weeks - Cattoo Paso Robles Syrah 2019

"This is an outstanding achievement for the whole Naked Wines team and our incredible independent winemakers. The record sweep of medals, particularly from our US producers, underscores the high and consistent quality of our wines which we make available direct to our customers, and it is great to see third party recognition of this.

About Naked Wines plc
Naked Wines connects everyday wine drinkers with the world's best independent winemakers.
Why? Because we think it's a better deal for everyone. Talented winemakers get the support, funding and freedom they need to make the best wine they've ever made. The wine drinkers who support them get much better wine at much better prices than traditional retail.
It's a unique business model. Naked Wines customers commit to a fixed prepayment each month which goes towards their next purchase. Naked in turn funds the production costs for winemakers, generating savings that are passed back to its customers. It creates a virtuous circle that benefits both wine drinker and winemaker.
Our mission is to change the way the whole wine industry works for the better. In the last year, we have served more than 850,000 Angel members in the US, UK and Australia, making us a leading player in the fast-growing direct-to-consumer wine market.
Our customers (who we call Angels) have direct access to 235 of the world's best independent winemakers making over 1,500 quality wines in 19 different countries. We collaborate with some of the world's best independent winemakers like Matt Parish (Beringer, Stags' Leap) and 8-time Winemaker of the Year Daryl Groom (Penfolds Grange).
