NANOCO GROUP PLC
("Nanoco" or "the Company")
Annual General Meeting
Nanoco Group plc (AIM: NANO), a world leader in the development and manufacture of commercial quantities of quantum dots, will this morning hold its Annual General Meeting at the Company's head office in Manchester.
Nanoco's CEO, Michael Edelman, will make the following statement:
"I am pleased to report that we are making good progress across our business. Manufacturing scale-up, allowing us to produce 1kg batches of quantum dots, is proceeding well with reactors having now been installed and successfully commissioned in our Manchester facility. Development work with our partners is also proceeding well, and we continue to make good progress in negotiating further agreements.
"The initial commercial market for our quantum dots is in the next generation of LEDs for use in low energy LCD televisions. Recent legislation introduced by the Californian Energy Commission, demanding a 49 per cent reduction in TV power consumption by the beginning of 2013, has underlined the significant potential of this market."
