Notification; that L&G's total interest was in 5.02% of NG voting ordinary
shares (132,346,620 shares) at 8 August 2007 (having previously notified a 4.12%
interest at 21 February 2007).

This notice is given in fulfilment of National Grid plc's obligation under the
