National Grid Group plc ('National Grid')

National Grid accepts Ofgem's price control proposals

National Grid Company has today written to Ofgem to accept the regulator's
final proposals for the Transmission Price Control Review, published on 
27 September.  The new price control covers a five year period
from 1 April 2001.

Acceptance of the final proposals is subject to agreement between
National Grid and Ofgem on the detailed amendments to the
Transmission Licence needed to bring the proposals into force.
