The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc - Director Declaration

As required by Listing Rule 9.6.14 (2), The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc ("the Group") announces that John McFarlane will become a non-executive director of Aviva plc on 1 September 2011. John will become deputy chairman on 1 January 2012 and chairman with effect from the end of June 2012.

John will step down from the Group Board by 31 March 2012.
