Notification of Director Interest in Shares

The Company has been advised by the Trustee of the Northumbrian Water Group plc Share Incentive Plan (the "Plan") that on 1 December 2010 it purchased 455 Ordinary 10 pence shares in the Company ("Ordinary shares") at £3.2950 per share on behalf of Heidi Mottram.

In addition, pursuant to the rules of the Plan, Mrs Mottram was granted a further 151 Ordinary shares for nil consideration.

Following this purchase and grant Mrs Mottram has an interest in 606 Ordinary shares in the issued share capital of the Company.
